At the Glenn Springs Academy, we celebrate birthdays, prom, holidays, honor roll, graduations, first jobs, touchdowns, homeruns, making the team, and all of the normal events in the life of a boy. We also take the guys off campus for bowling, movies, music lessons, symphony performances, dances, equine therapy at Crossroads Ranch, and Kenpo martial arts.
Each summer we also like to take a South Carolina literacy trip. In the past, we have visited the State Museum and State House in Columbia, H.L. Hunley Submarine, Fort Sumter, Folly Beach, and spent the night in the S.C. Aquarium. When appropriate, we enjoy participating in events with Spartanburg's Ellen Hines Smith Girls Home and other similar groups. The boys benefit tremendously from supervised time interacting with other youth outside the classroom setting.
Even under the best of circumstances, being a teenager is hard. We do our best to make this life transition a little easier. |
