Many of our boys come to us with minimal life skills because they've never had anyone care enough to teach them. We help them achieve these through training in several key areas, including: financial literacy, buying cars and houses, sexual education, cooking, washing laundry, maintaining personal hygiene, and using manners.

We also assist the boys in gaining life skills through off-campus jobs. Many of them, especially during the summer, find work in nearby restaurants and other businesses that help teach them about saving money and follow-through on commitments.

Boys learn vocational skills on campus through close interaction with our facilities management staff and specific vocational workshops. We seek to teach the boys life skills like the value of measuring twice and cutting once. In working with the boys in various capacities, we may find something that really sparks a genuine interest in a career or life-long hobby.

Education at Glenn Springs Academy is about a lot more than classroom learning.
